Henlow Building Supplies Comedy Night
On Thursday, 22 June, local businesses Henlow Building Supplies, ACO Water Management in Shefford and Henlow Bridge Lakes teamed up to raise vital funds for Keech Hospice Care with a comedy night at the lakes.
Employees from all three businesses came together to make a full house for a night of stand up comedy at The Roundel on the hot summer evening.
Opening the show was ‘Sweden’s eighth funniest comedian’ multi award winner Olaf Falafel. With a performance full of fictitious stories and a Scandinavian theme, Olaf had the crowd in hysterics as he picked on the front row and made jokes with staff.
The night’s headliner was Ian Stone, rated as one of the top 10 stand ups in Britain by the independent and a regular feature on TV shows including BT Sports ‘The Football’s On’ and ‘Never mind the Buzzcocks’. With jokes on the night ranging from his Jewish routes to our recent political events, Ian got a laugh from every member of the audience and a huge round of applause.
As well as bringing the businesses together, the evening of brilliant entertainment raised important funds for Henlow Bridge Lakes sponsored charity Keech Hospice Care.
Keech is a charity which supports adults from Luton and South Bedfordshire, and children from Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes, who have life-limiting illnesses. They are unique as one of the few hospices in the UK which provides care for both adults and children.
We are continuing to raise money for the charity and we would like to thank everyone for their generosity on the night.
